HUZZAH!!!

I made it in!!
AND
I will be playing the part of.....*DRUMROLL*
Miss Muzzy van Hossmere!!!
I have never been SO EXCITED in my life!! Muzzy seriously is one of my dream rolls. Every since it was announced that we were doing Millie, I've been dying to be Muzzy. For those of you who are not familiar with the plot line of the show, please click here.
The rest of the cast is as follows:
Millie: Rian Shepherd
Jimmy: Adam Leavitt
Mrs. Meers: Hannah Herring
Ching Ho: Nate Harper
Bun Foo: Camilee Bratt
Dorothy: Jesslyn Parker
Trevor Grayden: Jake Thorpe
Alice: Nicole Smith
Ruth: Carly Lewis
Gloria: Jessica Kirkby
Miss Flannery: Jennie Martin

It is going to be AMAZING! Everyone is so talented and I really just can't wait to work with everyone:)

I also made it to Region for Solo and Ensemble with my solo AND my ensemble. Woot! I'm half excited and half...not wanting to go. It's just a lot of stress. It will be good...who am I kidding, it's going to be awful! Oh well :)
Also..sometimes I'm at Special Needs Mutual and I accidentally mistake one of the Youth Consolers for a Special Needs youth...Most. Embarrassing. Moment. Ever. Sorry about that! YIKES.

Last item of business, I didn't go to Sweethearts. Part of me is glad because I didn't have to worry about it, but seriously, what girl doesn't hate when they don't get asked to a dance. It is no bueno and quite frankly it sucks. So next time...someone should ask me. But no worries, instead I just partied with this pretty lady. :)

Love her. The end :)

Normal.

Everything today is thoroughly modern! Forget about the boy....Jimmy, oh Jimmy, silly boy. Gee what a real swell guy..forget about the boy..
Hey so today I auditioned for a show! Woo hoo! OHS is doing Thoroughly Modern Millie and today was the much anticipated audition day. I sang my song (Taylor the Latte Boy). I was only off key for the first to measures..normal right?
Then I did a little tap dance. The thing is, I don't actually tap..so my audition was pretty great. I just pasted a cheesy smile on my face and moved my feet in some kind of...manner. It worked.

So auditions were pretty chill. I didn't hate them, but I wasn't in love with them. Only the cast list will say how I did....BARF. Hate waiting for those things. Woo. I'm fine.

But I'm also so excited to be doing Millie! (Granted I get in).
Call backs are posted tonight. I'm crossing my fingers!

OH. Also...
Dear Girl wearing a nappy old lion king costume from  your childhood as a scarf,
Please don't. Just stick with the normal stuff.
Sincerely, I think that was Simba.
**Okay probably not a lion king costume, but it was bad.**

Rude Awakening #253

NOBODY CARES.
Hate to be harsh here, but seriously, I just came to the most fantastic conclusion. Every girl is always so concerned about what they look like, how they talk, how people react to them. Everyone is so worried about what other people think about them.
BUT
Here's the deal. If everyone is so worried about what people think about them, nobody is really thinking about you. We live in a selfish world people! So next time you wonder what is going on in that person's head as they look at you, chances are they aren't even thinking about you!! Instead they are worrying what YOU think about THEM!

“We probably wouldn’t worry about what people think of us if we could know how seldom they do.” – Olin Miller

“If you must love your neighbor as yourself, it is at least as fair to love yourself as your neighbor.” – Nicholas de Chamfort

“Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent.”
– Eleanor Roosevelt

30 years from now, it won’t matter what shoes you wore, how your hair looked, or the jeans you bought. What will matter is what you learned and how you used it

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is noting enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all mean to shine, as children do. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” – Marianne Williamson

Oh How I've Missed Thee....

Oh blog. It's been so long. Where have you been these past weeks? Please forgive me? This is my attempt at an apology.
So maybe I talk to my blog. It's fine. Get over it. I just got home from the craziest, funnest, busiest weekend of my life and I realized that, despite the stupid math homework I still have to do, I REALLY need to blog.
Obviously I'm not going to tell you everything because seriously....why would I ever want to tell the whole world my life story? That would be dumb. Not everyone needs to know about my personal life.
SO
Secret Garden opened last Wednesday and it is going SO SO good! PLEASE come see it. It runs
TUESDAY
WEDNESDAY.
Tickets are $6 for adults $5 for students and $4 for elementary school students.
The show is so so good. It is such a talented cast and the message of the play is so amazing. It's truly beautiful and you don't want to miss out.

Friday I stayed home in order to prepare for my hectic weekend. I did go for my last class (Seminary with Bro. Judd. Stoked.) After school I helped set up for Preference. FCCLA is in charge and we did all the setting up. I also had the single most awkward experience with a boy who has been in love with me since 2nd grade and even though we've maybe said 5 words to each other in the past 6 years...he's still stalking. No bueno. But it makes for a great story.
After setting up I went to get ready for the show, performed in the show, and then stayed late to finish set up.

Saturday started really early. I had to get to school at 6:30 so I could get on a bus to Salt Lake for a rehearsal for the choir that sang in the Seminary Centennial. We got home at about noon and it was raining so hard. Despite the rain, Haily and I got ready for our day date for Preference. We packed a picnic lunch and headed up to Thanksgiving Point to the Dinosaur Museum. We had such a fun time there! Adam only scared about 5 little kids. :) That night we went to Pizza Factory for dinner and then headed to the dance. At about 10:30, we went on stage so Adam's dad could take some pictures. We didn't mind missing the last little bit of the dance since the DJ was pretty lame. We did dance to the last slow song though, even if it was in the back of the auditorium. :) So here are some awesome pictorials. Please ignore my nappiness...it's fine.

Is it bad that this one might be my favorite?

"Is it hot in hear, or do I have Cholera?"

They let me stand on a stool for this one..yeah I'm short.:)

Miss Haily and her cute date Kip joined us in our group and it seriously was a blast. I'm so glad I went!! Photo credit goes to Brother Leavitt. Check out more photos here.

Sunday was super amazing. At 1:30 we headed up to Salt Lake again so we could sing in the Seminary Centennial Broadcast. It was such a great experience. I learned how to sing like an African. :) Check out the video on seminary.lds.org and see if you can find me! It was truly amazing and I'm so glad I got to do it.

All in all the weekend was fantastic. Busy and crazy, but so much fun! Next weekend I get to give a talk. :\ Wish me luck! I think I should be okay :)

P.S. Just discovered the joy of this new blogger format. Score.
