So I went back and read some old posts...I used to be pretty entertaining. What happened???? So this is my attempt at writing a good blog post. Please bless.

Let me tell you about my break! It started out with Senior Ball. I went with Andrew Olsen and it was a party to the max! Seriously best date ever. Hands down, no questions asked. We partied in Riverwoods, I got 3 gum balls for one quarter, we discovered Narnia, shared awkward date stories (I won :)), and had NERF wars!!! Of course then we played it Hunger Games style. Best. Ever. So you saw the picture of us with our guns, and here are some more pictorials.

I'm really super asian...It's fine.
For more pictures go here.

Sunday was the peaceful passing of my Grandma. Busy, crazy day.
Monday was time for singing at the Food and Care Coalition again! There was this little boy who just came up in the middle of one of our songs. Didn't sing, but just stood with us. He was ADORABLE. And also his Dad filmed us so...it was pretty dang cute.
Then on the way home, Eva's mom decided that she loved us all a lot and she bought us frosty's from Wendy's. That was a good time.
That afternoon Rian, Eva, and I went to Andy's for some Castle watching. That was fun...and then Andy kicked us out of his house. :)

I think on Tuesday I made a million cookies...yeah. That sounds about right. I delivered them on Wednesday. Those two days were mostly just cleaning, getting people from the airport, preparing for the funeral.

Thursday was the funeral and our "White Family Christmas Party". Such a fun day full of family.

Friday was "let's try and recover from the tornado that hit our lives" day. And I did my Christmas shopping...sort of. Friday night I was feeling kind of low. I just wasn't feeling the Christmas spirit and it just didn't feel like Christmas.
BUT
Saturday was AMAZING. CHRISTMAS EVE!!! We woke up early that morning and went and cleaned the church. Then I delivered some gifts and we went to IHOP for breakfast. :) Then I got ready for the day and finished all my Christmas shopping. Ashlee, Keri and I spent some quality time dancing and singing in the bathroom. :) Then that night we had our beautiful candlelight dinner with our finest china...and pizza. :)
AND then it was CHRISTMAS!!!!
I could not sleep all night. No matter how old I get, I still can't ever sleep on Christmas Ever. The morning was great. We opened presents, had breakfast, all that jazz. Then we went to church. :) I sang my first solo in church. It went okay, I felt like it could have been better, but nobody cares because it's Christmas. :) After church we went to visit Grandma and Grandpa Erdmann in Mapleton. After, we came home and had a nice Christmas dinner and visited with some family.

This past week has been pretty chill. I've really just been recovering from life. I keep thinking that I really need to do something with people but...sometimes you really just need to sit down and do nothing. I really needed this week to recuperate and prepare for the crappy next couple of weeks that I'm going to have. Hate end of term SO much. :)

So...that's about it! I love Christmas, I love these weeks, I love sitting around and wearing sweats, I love family, and I love.......other stuff! Woohooo!
Peace out!

Lately..

Today has been a very long, emotional day. This afternoon, the funeral of my dear grandmother was held. I love that lady. I'm going to miss her a lot. This day has been full of tears, but it has also been full of so much joy. I'm so grateful for the knowledge that I will see her again. I know she is hard at work and so so happy. I'm so glad to be surrounded by so many family members. I've never felt this close to my family, especially my cousins. It's amazing what things bring people together.
This week has been so crazy. I've love seeing my mom with her siblings laughing and having a good time. My uncles CRACK ME UP. Seriously, I wish I had recorded their entire stay! I came down on Monday morning to see this:
Me: "Are you guys wearing the same shirt?"
Uncle Bob: "Don't even look at our pants."
Me:"...How embarrassing..."

Ken's on the left, Bob's on the right. These two are so funny. I've never stopped smiling since they've been here. And of course I had to take a picture of their matchy matchy outfits!

The whole family is gathering tonight for our annual "White Family Christmas Party". I think it's fitting that it should be held the same day as grandma's funeral. I'm excited to be with my family tonight. I sure do love them. :)

That's about it for now. As soon as Christmas is over, I'm hoping my blogging will be a little more exciting and not as...melancholy? Anyway, Merry Christmas!!
Oh...and enjoy this picture of me and my hot date at Senior Ball. Thanks Andy!

Till We Meet Again...

This morning I woke up. And put a bow in my hair. I'm still working on it.
I went to choir practice. Sang my solo.
And then I went to see Grandma White for the last time. Ashlee, Keri, and I sang "Silent Night" to her. Her favorite song. It's so interesting how someone's last breath can be such a struggle. I wasn't there for her last breath, but it was close. She held on for a very long time. She was stubborn to the end. Vocal too.
Grandma taught me how to be sassy. She taught me that if you just close your eyes, eventually people will just get mad at you and ignore you in the end. She taught me to be strong. She taught me how to worry. She gave me a great love for "Laverne and Shirley". She always called and asked about my life, she helped me realize how important each and every person is. She taught me how to enjoy what you have.
I said my goodbye to her on Friday night, and gave her a quick kiss today and said "I'll meet you there."
No matter how many times I complained whenever I had to answer the phone when it was her ((the conversation was bound to last 2 hours)) or how many times she scolded me for wearing blue jeans, no matter how many times she told me that my hair was ugly and that even after I'd cut 6 inches off it wasn't enough, I still love her. And someday I want to be her. I love you Grandma. Give Grandpa a big hug and kiss for me. Tell him Happy Anniversary. I'm glad you got to go home for Christmas.
I'm grateful that I took this picture when I did. I'm thankful for the sweet promptings of the spirit that told me to take it on Thanksgiving. I like this picture too Grandma. I like it too.

"I'm starving and I have 3 tacos waiting for me..."

Haley Wawro. CRACKS ME UP.
Sometimes we have 7 million Christmas concerts and people like her keep me going. :)
Good news folks!!! It's Christmas Break!!!! Huzzah! I'm so happy. No tests, no dumb people, no drama...wait. probably drama, BUT no dumb teachers! I just can't believe it!
My sister's been bragging these past couple of days about how she's done with school and I'm not but...well..let the picture do the talking.

Real cute Ker, real cute. You kind of look like this friend of mine..
See the resemblance? How embarrassing...

This is how I celebrate my finals :) Christmas sweaters and a messy room :)
Merry Christmas!! Happy first day of break!!

Salt Lake City

You know that moment when you're just about to sit down and write a good old blog post and then someone texts you and says you have rehearsal? Yeah. Me too. It happens to me all the time. My life these past couple of weeks has been CRAZY! Have you ever seen a wazooo? Because I'm pretty sure my life is one. Just saying.

However, exciting and fun things CAN happen in a wazooo. Happiness does exist there! Happy wazooo was discovered in a little city I like to call Salt Lake. It is tradition for A Capella and Chamber choir to go and sing at Temple Square every year at Christmastime. This year we sang at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building, the Assembly Hall, and the North Visitor's Center. Our first performance was a little rough, but our second was brilliant and by far my favorite. The Assembly Hall was built by the pioneers when they first came to Utah and it is gorgeous. It's old, but that makes it even more beautiful. The acoustics are prime and the spirit is so obviously present there. We sounded marvelous. There was a man sitting right in my range of vision who obviously had a mental illness; but each time we would start a song, his whole countenance would light up and he would sing along and smile. That to me was beauty in and of itself. I love the power that music has and I'm thankful that I have been blessed to be able to share that power with people.

Salt Lake, while spiritual was also very funny. And stupid. And dramatic. And hilarious. So I've come up with a list of things I learned.

Lessons Learned in SLC

1. Skanoodledoodle = scratching someone's arm.
2. Abraham Lincoln is a hobbit.
3. Andy is a confederate....or a Nazi.
4. Rian DOES like boys.
5. Lights off = scratchy business..
6. Dead Andy = Woody.
7. Ultimate bus game = Boggle.
8. Never assume that members of the opposite gender are the hungry ones. Because then all the men run across the street with 3 seconds left on the crosswalk and leave all the girls behind and they all split up because they assume that the other party is hungry and then they never get back together and they all get very confused.
9. RESPECT OTHER PEOPLE!!!!!!!
10. Silent Night gets pretty scratchy when used as a love song..
11. Mary, Joseph LEND YOUR AID.
12. "Ginger's rule!"
13. No lying on holy ground. :)
14. Always wear black shoes with black dresses.
15. Always wear pants under dress...especially in winter.
16. The Relief Society Building is NOT open to visitors.
17. Always stalk brides on their wedding day.
18. Never wear heels...ever.
19. Haley likes corn bread...not rolls. Deal with it.
20. Ignorance is bliss.

Basically it was a party in the wazooo! Can't wait for next year!

Lately

Maybe I'm a slacker...or maybe I'm just super busy. I'd like to think I'm the latter of those two :)
On Sunday, I woke up and put a skirt on. The hem was falling out so I taped it up. I'm pretty tacky. Sometimes you just don't have time, so you tape your skirt. It's fine.
Monday was back to school. I only barfed a little bit. I didn't actually do my math homework...but it's okay. I think I rehearsed on Monday...I'm not exactly sure. Chances are highly likely. Then maybe I rehearsed some more on Tuesday...This is rough. I have been so busy the past week, I really actually don't know what's been going on! And right now I'm pretty low on sleep, so it's not really helping.
BUT
Let me inform you of some VERY exciting news. On that day called Tuesday, I passed my driving test!!!! WOOHOO!!!! SO happy! So on the day called Wednesday, I got my license. :) Huzzah! I am very happy. Also on the day called Wednesday, my show opened! It's called "Rented Christmas". It's basically the cutest show ever so please come and see it. I have a show Saturday at 7, Monday at 7, and Tuesday at 8:30. It's really cute and pretty funny so..I'll just see you there!
Another very important item of business, my house has grown a mustache. Just for "No Shave November". Except that's over so maybe....Decembeard??? Or..Janbeardary? ((Kuddos to Carly for those cleaver themes:)))

Also...I have this friend named Haily. Haily Michelle Leavitt. I love her so freaking much. She's in my P.E. class and I could not survive that class without her. The definition of a smile is Haily Leavitt. It's impossible to frown around her! She lets you vent about all you issues in life and gives great advice. And she tells you things about her life and she just makes you feel good! Together you learn to have patience with other people. And some days we don't want to exercise. So we sit on the bikes and listen to music and talk to Taylor about baby names and all talk about how our parents met and how they were proposed to. Haily's parents win ((In Disneyland WITH a Mickey Mouse bandaid.)) how can you beat that??? Anyway. Haily likes mustaches. So my house always reminds me of her...but without the mustache...? Yeah.
So...That's my life. Once again, I had so many clever things to write in this post but...they are gone from my brain.
Peace. Love. Marry....Merry Christmas. Happy Christmas? Feliz Navidad....Nazi...dad...NOPE!
k bye.
